COVID-19 Spring Hours: Closed, Virtual Education Program
Brick Elementary is a Title I public school in the Lincoln Consolidated school district in Ypsilanti.
Due to the number of students that qualify for free and reduced lunch, Brick began providing free breakfast and lunch to all students enrolled at the elementary school in the 2019-20 school year.
At this location, CAN operates an emergency food pantry, After School Programs, a 6-week Educational Summer Camp program, and manages volunteers for Read to Succeed, an in-school literacy development program.
Educating Children & Youth
Free 6-week Educational Summer Camp
Free After School Program that provides homework & reading support, enrichment activities, social-emotional development, snack, and more
CAN Art & Design program in which students develop creative skillsets to inquire, design, build, and connect with their broader community
School-Family Liaison Services
Read to Succeed program in which volunteers assist students in the classroom during the school year with literacy skills development
Emergency food pantry (available to all Washtenaw County residents)
Holiday gift support (for select families)
Referrals to additional Washtenaw County resources
CAN hosts regular holiday and community parties/events during the Brick After School Program
Relationship-building between teachers, CAN staff, and CAN families
CAN staff is present in the school building during the day to assist families with finding resources and connecting with Brick's educators
