Holiday Wishlist Eligibility

Eligible families either live and/or participate in CAN's programs related to the following communities:

  • Completing this form does not guarantee that CAN will be able to provide your family with holiday gifts, though CAN does its best to match you and your child or children's preferences with potential donors.

 

  • Each gift must be valued at $25 or less. When listing a clothing item, please include the expected size of the child in mid-December.

 

  • Due to funding and resource limitations, participation is limited to specific CAN service areas and neighborhoods.

Salvation Army Christmas Assistance

Gifts and toys for children 0-18

  • Current photo ID of every adult in the household

  • Proof of Washtenaw County residency (such as a lease or mortgage statement)

  • Proof of each Dependent (child) in household (birth certificate AND Social Security card, school records, guardianship papers, insurance cards, updated shot/immunization records, mail with dependents name

DTE Gift of Energy

  • Help someone you know by paying all or a portion of their DTE Energy bill

  • You can use the Gift of Energy for:

    • A charitable donation to someone in need​

    • Holiday gifts

    • Relatives living on a fixed income

    • Children living away from home

Shop With A Cop

  • Each child receives:

    • A winter coat, hat, gloves, blanket, backpack, toothbrush, and toothpaste

    • $100-$150 to spend on gifts

    • $100-$150 gift card to local Washtenaw County restaurants

    • $25 gas card

Washtenaw County MDHHS Holiday Assistance Program

  • Provides holiday help to families with children (under 18) and senior citizens (over 65) within Washtenaw County. Families who fall into one of the following categories will be prioritized:

    • Families with an active CPS or Prevention case (Foster Care families are eligible for a separate holiday program)​

    • Seniors (over 65) receiving Medicaid and Food Assistance

    • Families receiving Family Independence Program (FIP) cash assistance

    • Families of Erickson Elementary participating in Pathways 2 Potential services
